Emily De Molly Studded Jeans

Good morning!
Today I have my first Emily de Molly polish to show you! I'd lusted after it for quite a while but restocks of this brand are usually pretty crazy. One day I was lucky enough to be off work when a restock went live so I snatched this one up quickly and checked out!

Studded Jeans is a dusty, periwinkle-type shade of blue with gold flakes and gold holo glitters. I did find that the glitters and flakes sank a little bit, so I flipped it upside down before polishing my other hand and found that helped quite a bit. Three coats here for opacity. I'd already been wearing this mani for a few days before I took pictures so I apologize for the tipwear!

I really like my first Emily de Molly! There are a few more glitter-bomb type ones I quite like, I might try to get more soon!

March Untried Lynderella One Nutty Fruitcake!

Hey there! Short post because I'm writing this right before bedtime. I'd been lusting over this polish for a long time and I finally bit the bullet and ordered it! Did it live up to my expectations?

For the most part, yes. I love the colour combinations and the addition of the black squares is really different. The microglitter is really great too! However, it does seem like it bleeds a little as the base had a pinkish tint instead of being truly clear. It probably wouldn't be noticeable over a darker colour but I chose to wear it over OPI My Vampire Is Buff, so I could tell where the base colour was changed. One coat over two coats of My Vampire is Buff.

So there you have it! My first Lynnderella. I think I'll probably pick up a few more, but honestly the price keeps me from collecting very many.

Double Accent Nail Mani

Hi all! I meant to have this post up for yesterday as part of the Rainbow Untrieds. Fail! You guys get it today instead. I'm tryyyyying to steer away from Essie because they aren't cruelty-free, but I did pick up Butler Please recently. And then my OPI Sparkle-icious came in the mail so I paired them up together.

Two coats of each. I saw that Glitta Gloves did a mani like this on Instagram but with the nails reversed, I must have copied her subconsciously. Past my bedtime so that's all from me tonight!

Nude Glam!

Not like that! Get your minds out of the gutter ;) This is a mani I found on Pinterest a while ago and have been wanting to recreate for a while! I think it may have been done with Deborah Lippmann polishes but my budget doesn't allow too many of them!

I used Essence Modern Romance as my base colour, it's a sheer nude with a pinkish/copper shimmer. I used three coats to cover my VNL. Then I used two coats of KBShimmer We Three Blings over top to glam it up a little! I topped the whole thing off with some SV. I actually really love this combo, it's a great way to do nude nails without it being a snoozefest. I love the mixture of hexes and flakes in the glitter topcoat, I'll definitely be trying it out over other colours!

And as I was looking through my photos on the camera, Oscar jumped into my lightbox and started playing with my polish!

KBShimmer Get Clover It

Hi there! Sorry I've fallen off the wagon a little bit with my regular posts, I need to have a good swatch session so I have some stuff to show you! I do however have a polish I wore a few weeks ago, KBShimmer Get Clover It from the new Spring collection.

I used two coats over OPI Jade is the New black. It's a good match for the green creme, and I found the glitter to be easy to place where I wanted it!

Green, jelly, circle glitter... This polish is definitely awesome!

Lac Attack Swatches!

Hi there! So I have some Lac Attack polishes today, and I'm super excited to show them to you! Two are from the recent Magical Musings Glitta Gloves collaboration collection based on Harry Potter and and one is from the Valentine's collection. I'm putting this under a cut because I have a ton of pictures, so check it out!

Glitter Gradient with KBShimmer

Hi! So I've been a terrible blogger this week, oops! I finally got some new swatches so this week will be better. I originally put on my base polish to photograph it for the Untrieds challenge, but then decided I wanted to do a glitter gradient with my new KBShimmer polish!

Starting with my base, I put on two coats of Joe Fresh Moss. Like the name describes, this is a great dark, slightly murky green. It makes me think of vegetation and foliage, the murkiness makes it a very "natural" green. Then I added KBShimmer We Three Blings in a glitter gradient concentrated around the cuticle. We Three Blings is actually a glitter from the Christmas collection, but I waited to get it until just recently. I think Harlow and Co still has it for sale!

I can definitely say I love both these polishes! The green is really cool and edgy, and I think the gold glitter is going to be usable year round and not just for Christmas time!

Revlon Heavenly

Good morning! So today I have another Revlon glitter, I feel like they've been releasing some really awesome stuff lately, even if it is mostly dupes. I had seen Heavenly on blogs and was really surprised when I spotted it locally, so I grabbed it! I didn't have one of the similar glitters (DL Stairway to Heaven, CG Snowglobe, etc, etc.) Heavenly will be getting lots of use  over my spring pastels!

Formula wise it was a little bit thick, however it was also very packed with glitter so I was happy about that. I might try adding just a bit of thinner to make it easier for next time. Pictures show one coat, and you'll be seeing the base polish later this week! Heavenly is made up of lots of small blue SQUARE iridescent glitters and larger multicoloured pastel hex glitters. Super cool and definitely very versatile, I bet this would look amazeballs over black!

That's it from me for now, have a great day!

Revlon Midnight Sparkle

Hey! I hope you're all having a great day :)  This polish popped up on blogs a month or two a go and I loved it! I actually really like Revlon, they have a great range of shades and they do some pretty interesting glitters. Most of them ARE dupes for higher end polishes, but still I'm down with saving some money.

Midnight Sparkle is very dupe-y to Deborah Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues. I don't own it, and DL prices are a little steep for me, but I am very happy to have a similar polish! The Revlon has a very deep blue jelly base with silver hexes and microglitter. The glitter does come off looking blue because of how pigmented the base is. I only needed two coats for coverage with this polish. It did have some texture, so if you have a thicker topcoat, use it!

I had to order this polish from eBay because it didn't show up in my local stores, so I'm not sure if it didn't come to Canada or if it sold out locally before I could find it. If you want it though, I would definitely recommend tracking it down soon because it was part of the Holiday collection and might not be around much longer.

Peacock Nails

Hi everyone! Today I have a mani I did a while ago after receiving my matte topcoat. Check it out!

I used a dark blue shimmer, which I believe was Nicole by OPI Listen to you Mom-ager, then did glitter tips using HITS Phenomena in Moonbow (I think). It's a dupe to Ozotic Elytra 528 which I also own, but hoard because it's been discontinued. They're both multichrome glitters, so cool! Then I topped the whole thing off with Essie Matte About You. The colours reminded me of a peacock.

Mmmm pretty!! It makes me sad seeing how long my nails were though, I just broke my index shovelling snow so now I have shorties again :(

That's all for now, have a great day!

I Got Distracted

Cult Nails I Got Distracted was from the semi-recent Coco Untamed collection. It was the polish that really caught my eye and I knew that eventually it would be mine! So when I decided to take advantage of the last Cult Nails sale and finally join the cult, I threw it into my cart with no hesitation.

Formula was amazing, I believe I needed only two coats. The base is a deep blackened teal with small hexes and lots of holo microglitter. It sparkles like crazy!

Also, I was messing with my camera and accidentally reset the white balance away from my custom setting and now my pictures aren't as bright as I like them, boo!

Soft White

Hi everyone! Sorry about my huge lull in posting. This is a mani I wore a while ago after receiving my Cirque order. I wanted to use the white glitter, Galinda, in a snow-inspired mani.

I started with a base of a random sheer white with shimmer I had in my stash. It's Kiss brand and I'm pretty sure that it was handed down to me from my aunts haha. The white was more sheer than I would have liked and needed four coats until I was happy. Luckily Galinda has great glitter coverage and I only needed two coats to get the look I wanted.

What do you think of my snowy mani? It has a lot of VNL so I think I might try it again whenever I have shorties next!

Some Random Swatches!

Hey everyone! I hope your weekend is going well, mine got off to a bad start when I came home to find that my kitten had hurt himself falling and the vet said he broke his pelvis :( He's doing better now, hopefully he will heal up on his own and not need surgery. BUT my weekend is ending on a better note, I'm going to see Zedd tonight! I'm very excited, he's been on my to-see list for quite a while.

On a polish note, I have a few random swatches here and I don't feel like I have enough to say about them for each to get its own post.

Dynamite Blue Symphony- this is a little polish I grabbed in a clothing store I like, I was waiting in line and happened to see a display up by the front. Naturally I caved and grabbed a couple. This is a deep, bright blue shimmer. Not unique but a good shade to have on hand, and formula was good! Two coats.

China Glaze Immortal- A colour from the Halloween collection, Immortal is a grey creme with blue and pink shimmer. I really like it, but as you can see it was a bit patchy at two coats. Next time I'll be sure to do three! Formula was good otherwise, easy to control.

Jessica Platinum Wishes- I LOVE This polish. I've shown it over China Glaze Liquid Leather. It has multicoloured and holo multiglitter in a clear base. The colours look like blue, red, and green predominately, but there are others in there. I haven't seen this polish on blogs and I have no idea why not, it's from the Holiday collection and it's amazing. I have another glitter to show but it's like I forgot how to work my camera when I was photographing and all my pictures were terrible.

That's all for now! I hope you enjoyed.

Ibiza Mix Jelly Sandwich

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! Today I have a jelly sandwich. I always mean to do these more often, but I usually have so many new polishes I just wear them instead. It's a real issue. LOL. I love the look of white based glitters, but haven't found the PERFECT one just yet (Yeah, I'm picky) so I thought I would see if I could scratch my itch with polishes I already have. Ibiza Mix by model's own is a great bright glitter, just what I needed. I sandwiched it with OPI Funny Bunny, a white jelly. I can't quite recall how many coats I used, I think it was 2 OPI, 2 model's own, and then another OPI. Don't quote me on it, though.

Ta Da!! I don't think this is going to be my PERFECT "candy" glitter, but I definitely like the look, and I like that I didn't have to buy any polishes for it, LOL.

Dollish Polish Girls Rule Boys Drool

Hey all! I hope you had a fun Christmas if you celebrate, and a successful Boxing Day if you were brave enough to face the malls! I thought about going shopping today, but then decided I would rather read A Storm of Swords. I've been completely sucked into the Song of Fire and Ice books this past bit, so if anyone was wondering where I was... yeah, stuck between the pages of a book haha. BUT I remembered myself, and here I am.
Today I have a very pretty indie for you, and a rare one at that. I don't have many indies at all, but when I heard about this one I thought it sounded pretty cool. It's one of only 300 bottles, and to be given the opportunity to get it you had to fill out a form and have your name drawn. Kind of like a giveaway, but you still had to pay. haha!! Anyway I never expected to get to buy it because I never win anything, but I did! Yay!
Girls Rule Boys Drool is a very girly mix of tiny pink and purple matte glitters. This is also the first matte glitter I own, and I really like it. Here I wore one coat over two (or three? can't remember) coats of China Glaze Something Sweet to really amp up the girlieness. I also think it would look great over periwinkle, or white/cream, and obviously black.

There you have it! What do you think of this girly glitter? Would you wear it, or is it too much?

Whimsical Seas

Hey everyone! So this is a combo I have seen before, but I really wanted to try it out for myself. China Glaze Sea Spray is an awesome grayed out light blue, a very pale shade but a little too dusty to be a true pastel. It's not quite a shimmer but it has a little bit of a pearl to it. I really love it. Revlon Whimsical is a light blueish very sheer base with pink and blue hexes and tiny bright blue microglitter. The polish is too sheer to every reach opacity on it's own, so a base is definitely necessary. I think it would look good over other colours too but Sea Spray is the one closest to its base. Whimsical is also a Deborah Lippmann dupe of Glitter in the Air, so that's a bonus!

That's all for today! What do you think of the combo? Not exactly winter appropriate, but I think it's cute!

Butterscotch Glitter Clouds

Hey everyone! For this mani I decided to try out the cloud design. I've seen it lots before and think it's super cute. Unfortunately I don't think the colours I chose were the best because it's hard to tell them apart, but I still think it was an interesting look. For this one I started with China Glaze Desert Sun, an interesting burnt orange/caramel colour. I'm not 100% convinced about this colour on my skintone, I think it's a little into lobster hands territory on me. BUT it also looks like I have Werther's caramels on my nails. Mmmmmmm *Homer Simpson drool*. So then I did the clouds first with I Herd That, a glitter that closely corresponds with Desert Sun. I added another cloud over the first with I'm Not Lion, a lighter glitter from the same collection. Overall it's really hard to see the distinction in the two glitters, but you can tell there's a difference so that's good for me!

Overall I think it was a cool variation on glitter tip manicures and next time I want to try out the design with some pastels or brights! Anywway that's all for me today, hope you enjoyed!

Lazy 15- Tape Mani

Hi Everyone!
I saw this nail art challenge on the Polish Enthusiast's blog and thought.... I'm lazy, this might work for me! haha. So there are 15 different prompts in this challenge, most of which are things I've wanted to try for a while! The first is a tape mani.

I used Ruby Pumps (man I am burning through these untrieds!) as my base, 2 coats. Then I taped off the triangles with regular scotch tape and added China Glaze Liquid Leather, my go to black polish. Once it was on, I peeled the tape off before the polish dried and voila, triangles! My lines aren't as neat as they could be, but for my first time I'm pretty happy with it!

What do you think about tape manis? I think they're an easy way to get a look that makes people think you did a lot more work than you actually did ;) Next I need to get my hands on some striping tape and try that out!

China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Hey all!
This polish is awesome because it came to me in a Secret Goblin swap I did with a few other girls for Halloween! It was started by the lovely Amanda of The Nail Polish Enthusiast and my Secret Goblin was Arlyn, she is a total sweetie and you may have seen her on twitter! @Arlyn531
She did a fantastic job and I love everything she got me, my gift included China Glaze Dorothy Who, Ruby Pumps, and For Audrey, as well as Revlon Naughty and some cute extras!

So I decided to get right into my gift and today I'm showing you Dorothy Who, a bright blue jelly base packed with silver microglitter. It does go on sheer, so you'll have to build it up to avoid VNL. I have three coats and you can still see a little bit. The formula was good, not too hard to control, and I didn't notice any staining when I took it off!

There you have it! Pretty hey? I think it'll be great in the summer but the glitter makes it work for winter too!

My nails and cuticles have been giving me some trouble lately, the corners kept breaking off my nails so I've rounded them a bit and am taking lots of Biotin and Omega 3 supplements so hopefully they toughen up soon, and I have some wounds on my cuticles I tried my best to photoshop out! Ouch!

China Glaze Rainstorm

Hey all! This is going to be a super quick post because I have to go get ready for work (laaaaame)! This is an older polish I picked up in the sale bin at some random salon in West Edmonton Mall a few weeks ago. It looked interesting in the bottle so it came home with me!

Rainstorm is a medium cornflower blue polish with some bright blue microglitter in it! The microglitter doesn't look clumpy or gritty in the polish, it lays smooth and makes it look really interesting. On top of that, there's also a very very subtle violet shimmer, almost a pearl effect. I think it's a super pretty colour! Formula wise, this one was a little odd. It's very sheer and needed 4 coats, and it was thick but runny at the same time. I didn't have much trouble controlling it though. Maybe the formula is weird because it's an older polish? Anyway, here are the pics! All have Nail Tek II basecoat and SV topcoat!

I think it does look like a rainstorm, don't you?
