Color Club Alias

Hey! So I am super duper excited about this post today, this is such a gorgeous polish! I don't have very many multichromes. I don't think I've shown many on the blog because up until recently I was too intimidated to try and photograph them.

I put two coats of Alias on top of my No More Film mani it really helped with the sheerness Alias has. It shifts pink, purple, and even greenish at some angles.

Man I love this mani! I think it's super cool how the colours shift! I'm actually wearing another multichrome right now, they're seriously like magic.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!

Lazy 15- Gradient Mani

Phew!! So this is today's actual prompt, a gradient mani!! I've actually done a few gradient manis and they're one of my favorite things to do, but this is the first one I've photographed for the blog!

I used two colours from the older Color Club Foiled collection, Cold Metal and Perfect Mol-ten. I found they worked really great for my gradient and blended very smoothly! I started with a base of ONE (!!) coat of Cold Metal, and sponged the gradient with Perfect Mol-ten onto my tips. A quick coat of SV to smooth it out and that's all folks! Now that I've done a few gradients I find them very quick to do, especially using awesome pigmented colours like these ones!

What do you think of my gradient? It's subtle but I like it that way! See you on Wednesday for some dots!

Color Club Wing Fling

This is the last of the Take Wing collection I have right now, I might eventually go pick up the other three though. I can't resist a good glass fleck! Wing Fling is a bright, hot pink but the shimmer makes it seem...classy?  Can hot pink be classy? If so, this one is! The polish in the bottle shows some orange duochrome, but it unfortunately doesn't show on the nail. The shimmer is enough to keep the color interesting though, lots of depth and glow. Formula was good, a little on the thin side but very easy to control. By three coats it had good opacity, and it dried quickly and didn't feel "dentable". Of course I added my SV topcoat to seal it and give it extra shine, but I think it would have been okay on its own.
First two in shade, second two in sun. Look at that depth in the shade and sparkle in the sun! Awesome.

Color Club Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is from the summer collection Color Club just put out called Take Wing. The entire collection is a bunch of beautiful glass fleck shimmers, and Metamorphosis is no exception. This is a beautiful teal, the kind of color I just keep buying! At certain angles and in the bottle it seems to have a tiny bit of purple flash, I couldn't get it to show on camera though. I used three fairly thin coats, it looked good at two but I'm paranoid about bald spots/ patchiness going on so I added another. Application was great though, barely any clean up!
First two in sun, third in shade.

China Glaze Gothic Lolita

Purple has been a favorite color of mine as long as I can remember, especially medium purples like this one! Gothic Lolita is from the Electropop collection put out this spring. Most of the shades are creme finish, but Gothic Lolita has a subtle shimmer that really gives it something special. It's also a warm purple, it doesn't lean to the blue side.
I topped my accent fingers with a cool Color Club flakie I picked up in my recent Winners haul. Once again the bottle isn't marked, but when I did some digging I found that it is most likely Diamond Drops from the Blossoming collection. Diamond Drops is like a cross between a flakie and a glitter, it seems like it's made out of shredded plastic and it reflects a bunch of different colors! Yellow, orange, green, blue, teal! Pretty but the base is thick so you do need to place the flakes somewhat, and it dries with texture. I slopped a thick coat of Seche Vite on those fingers and it seemed to help!

This mani was a few days old by the time I photographed it, so you can kind of see where I had to cover up chips with more paint, ignore that! ;)

Color Club Sky High?

Today I have a Color Club polish I picked up at Winners recently. I THINK this is part of the summer 2012 Take Wing collection but I can't be sure because the bottle has no label. They were being sold in packs of two, and there was a blue, green, pink, orange, teal, and yellow. So it looks like the same colors, but I'm not 100% positive.
The blue I got, which appears to be Sky High, is gorgeous. It's a bright, almost electric blue with glass fleck shimmer. To make it even better, at some lights and angles the shimmer seems to flash purple! Just gorgeous. I really liked the formula on it, the first coat was sheer but by three coats the color was deep and opaque. No issues with bubbling either! I used Seche Vite topcoat to seal it and give it more shine.
The first two pictures are in natural light, the third is with flash, and the fourth is in indoor lighting. I was being a spaz so the picture isn't focused, but it shows the purple flash in the bottle!
It really is much better in real life, almost as bright as the third picture and with just the greatest shimmer. I'm no photographer by any means so hopefully as I keep doing this my pictures will get better!
The last picture is a quick shot from my phone. It shows the true color the best!
