Happy hump day everyone!
Today I have a look I really enjoyed, I've seen some indie polishes that are very similar to this and I had a black a jelly and a green glitter so I decided to recreate it myself.
This mani took quite a bit of time and had lots of layers, I think about 4 layers of the glitter and maybe three layers of the black. The black jelly is actually a cheap NYC creme I diluted with clear polish to make a jelly. The green glitter is by a brand called True Colors that I found in a drug store in Nova Scotia when I was there last summer. They were super cheap so I grabbed about 5, they're great for jelly sandwiches!
I'm glad I saved the money and recreated the look myself instead of shelling out some more money! Not that the indies like this aren't gorgeous. And I'll definitely be making manis like this with my other glitters.

Lazy 15- Galaxy Nails
Hello everyone! I hope your Mondays are going well. Today the prompt is Galaxy Nails. I've seen these before and really liked them, and I was very excited to try them out myself. I think I did a good job on these, I'm very happy with them!
I started with a base of black, then sponged on lots of different colours randomly over the nail. I think I used China Glaze For Audrey, First Mate, White Out, OPI Man of La Mancha, and a random Sally Hansen purple. I added Fairy Dust in the black spaces for sparkle, and fished out some small silver holo hexes from a Revlon glitter and used them to make stars.
So there we go? What do you think of my galaxy nails? I'm proud of them, yay! Now I'm off to go moisturize my cuticles, the wintery weather here is not very nice to them! Be sure to check out the other Lazy 15ers!

Lazy 15- Tape Mani
Hi Everyone!
I saw this nail art challenge on the Polish Enthusiast's blog and thought.... I'm lazy, this might work for me! haha. So there are 15 different prompts in this challenge, most of which are things I've wanted to try for a while! The first is a tape mani.
I used Ruby Pumps (man I am burning through these untrieds!) as my base, 2 coats. Then I taped off the triangles with regular scotch tape and added China Glaze Liquid Leather, my go to black polish. Once it was on, I peeled the tape off before the polish dried and voila, triangles! My lines aren't as neat as they could be, but for my first time I'm pretty happy with it!
What do you think about tape manis? I think they're an easy way to get a look that makes people think you did a lot more work than you actually did ;) Next I need to get my hands on some striping tape and try that out!

Nubar Elegant Indigo/CND Raspberry Sparkle
Hey everyone!! How was your Halloween weekend? I'm scheduling this post, Saturday night I headed up to Edmonton with my boyfriend and some of our friends and we went to a party called Scream, it had Nicky Romero and Hardwell djing and they're fantastic, I'm sure I had a great time! Haha it's weird writing from the past, I'm not sure what tense to use.
This polish I picked up at Winners a long long time ago, but it seemed like it would be a biatch to photograph so I left it for Future me to deal with when I had a better set up. That would be now, so here we are! This is a black polish with glassfleck shimmer that shifts from pink to purple to blue. Super awesome! I'm not really much of one for straight black polish so the colourful shimmer in this one really brightens it up nicely for me. Formula wise this was great, nice and easy to control and only needed two coats for opacity. If you can find this, I'd recommend it!
Pretty neat hey? Anyways I thought that wasn't quite splashy enough so I did a gradient with my CND Effects Raspberry Sparkle. I'm a big fan of the CND effects, especially the sparkle ones. They're like duochrome glassfleck polishes in a sheer base than can be used over a variety of colours. I love them but they are a little hard to find, if you're in Canada they can be found in Chatters and are on sale right now!
In this shot you can see more blue shimmer.
And here you can see the purple/pink shimmer!
What do you think about this shimmer? Do you have any effects type polishes that you like to use?

Joe Fresh Twilight
Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you're all having a happy Monday anyway. If not, maybe this beauty will cheer you up. I've posted Joe Fresh polishes before, and I have to say I'm impressed with them! They're very affordable, (3 for $10?! Heck yeah!!) good quality, and the colour range is phenomenal. I don't go to Superstore much, but I always spend some time looking at all the different polishes. This one is pretty awesome because it's a FLAKIE!!! Twilight is one polish I make sure to always slip into swap packages because I think it's just so cool, and it's only available here in Canada.
Twilight has a sheer black jelly base loaded with green to orange colour shifting flakies. It does take three coats to reach opacity, but it's soooo worth it. The flakies flash green most of the time, and it makes the polish look like a gemstone! Then at certain angles, bright orange! Man it's great. I can't believe I waited so long to try this out. Because the base is sheer, it could probably be layered, but I like the depth and flakie payoff of wearing it on its own.
You ready? Yeah, you're ready!
All pics are with Nail Tek II basecoat and SV topcoat.

I'm in love.
Then, because I've heard great things about mattified flakies, I decided to throw on my matte topcoat (also Joe Fresh, hey I love a bargain!) and find out for myself.
I still like it, but I think I prefer the glossy look! I definitely will be trying more matte manicures in the future though. So what do you think? Has this steal of a deal stolen its way into your heart? Find a Canadian friend to get it to you, it's worth it!

Nail of Many Days Ago
Hello again!
This was intended to be a NOTD, but that was many, many days ago. I can explain my sporadic posting schedule, but it would take forever so I'll just say that I've been having technical difficulties and leave it at that.
This look is Need Sunglasses? from the OPI swatch post, topped with two coats of a black and silver glitter called Satin Knight. The glitter is from a brand called true colors that I found in a Nova Scotia drugstore called Lawton's. I gotta say, that drugstore is AWESOME and I wish we had them here in Alberta. I can't find any mention of this true colors brand on Google but they had a bunch of different coloured glitter and a collection of other colours. They were really inexpensive so I bought five and will definitely be using them in jelly sandwiches, yay! This one has black and silver microglitter and small black hexes. I'm gonna be using this over everything! The glitter isn't too terribly sparse but it did want to stick together a bit so I had to dab it on where I wanted it.

Now remember how I said that Need Sunglasses? took foreverrrrrrrr to dry? Well I added this glitter a full day or two after I'd been wearing it, and it somehow turned the WHOLE thing into a gummy mess and it got mushed off my index finger. Blegh. But I'll just load on the SV next time, overall I really like these two polishes!

Revlon Scandalous aka Facets of Fuschia
Hello! So today I have a drugstore find for you, I quite like it! Revlon Scandalous is a black jelly base with pinkish purple hexes and microglitter. When this was first released it was called Facets of Fuschia, but then it was renamed Scandalous and made part of the core line. The cool thing about this polish is that it's a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. I would much rather pay under $5 than the $15+ hers sell for, yay bargains! This went on pretty sheer the first coat, but by the third it was nice and opaque. The glitter is thick enough that I didn't need to dab it on at all. My only minor complaint is that when doing cleanup, I had a few stubborn glitters that wanted to stick out past my polish line a little, but you can't win them all!
Unfortunately I have just the one picture for you, there was a weird smudge on my middle finger that is really distracting on all the other pictures. Funny how these things never show up to my eye or the camera screen! I need to look more closely I think!
